Properties must consist of five or more units, at least 66% of households in the property must be at or below 80 percent AMI, and be in a disadvantaged community (DAC). Must be able to identify energy improvements that equate to at least 5% in electrical energy savings.
Financial incentives range depending on the number of units in the building and if energy efficiant changes in owner-paid energy costs versus tenant-paid energy costs. In buildings with 5-64 units $5,400/MTCO2e is available for owner-paid energy costs. In buildings with over 65 units, $7,750/MTCO2e is available for energy-efficient measures that reduce tenant-paid energy costs
CAMR assists LA’s low-income multifamily property owners by providing free property assessments to identify efficiency opportunities to help owners and their residents save energy and reduce costs. Free assessments for energy-efficient lighting, appliances, HVAC, and water heating systems. Qualified property owners will receive aid with work scope development and the contractor procurement process. Financial incentives are given for reducing greenhouse gas emissions in tenant units and common areas.
